Below is the Texas License To Carry Handgun License course of fire, scoring process and requirements to qualify to receive your handgun license.
The qualifying targets are B-27 full silhouette green targets.
You will be required to shoot 50 rounds from 3 different distances. You must use Factory new ammunition during qualifying. We do not allow students to qualify with reloaded ammunition whether they reloaded the ammunition or they bought reloaded ammunition.
The maximum score is 250 point. The passing score is 175 points or higher.
The 8 ring, 9 ring and X ring are worth 5 points per hit.
The 7 ring is worth 4 points per hit.
Outside the 7 ring but inside the silhouette is worth 3 points per hit.
Outside the silhouette is worth 0 points
20 rounds total, 100 points possible:
1 shot in 2 seconds 5 times
2 shots in 3 seconds 5 times
5 shots in 10 seconds 1 time
20 rounds total, 100 points possible:
5 shots in 10 seconds 1 time
2 shots in 4 seconds 1 time
3 shots in 6 seconds 1 time
1 shot in 2 seconds 5 times
5 shots in 15 seconds 1 time
10 rounds total, 50 points possible:
2 shots in 6 seconds 1 time
3 shots in 9 seconds 1 time
5 shots in 15 seconds 1 time
